Installing quirky-6.0.1 into a file system image, i.e. quirkmode=8. While it works for me, it might not work for you. If you need any additional module or anything extra in initrd you would have to modify initrd. Possible file systems for the home partition, as well as, the file system image are ext2/3/4 and f2fs, although some preparations have been made for to support reiserfs. Put the installer-script, install-quirky-to-fs_img.sh, together with etc_rc.d_rc.shutdown.diff, etc_rc.d_rc.sysinit.diff and initrd__sbin_init.diff, in the same directory as quirky-6.0.1.usfs.xz. Run the installer-script and a file system image will be created, together with an initrd, a boot directory and a boot stanza. Should anyone want to try this with a little less automation, just create a suitably sized file system image, using dd and mkfs.xxx, take a peek at the installer-scrpt, especially for the creation of the initrd and the boot stanza. Should you wish not to patch the files etc/rc.d/rc.shutdown, etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit and (initrd)/sbin/init, the actual files are supplied in the QM8 subdirectory, just rename them (substitute _ with / where appropriate) and copy them to where they belong. /MHHP, Dec 2013
